Hi , im scheduled to get liposuction done on my knees calves and ankles in a week. my surgeon is a board certified plastic surgeon and the procedure is preformed in his office under an oral sedation +local anastasia. i have read a lot of reviews and a lot of people seem to feel uncomfortable i dont want to feel a lot of pain and i want the surgeon to be able to give me the best results. what is the best way to go? what is the price difference? can a twilight sedation be done in the office?
Smartlipo can be done with local, sedation, or under general anesthesia. The important factor here is the training and experience of the Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Make sure that your surgeon is a "real" Plastic surgeon. Our patients are offered all the options. The majority of our patients are done under local using the tumescent anesthesia and medication in a safe environment. Ninety percent of our patients return to work in 3 days. Sedation and General anesthesia are done in a hospital setting (additional cost). The risk of anesthesia is always there. The best thing to do is to consult with a Plastic Surgeon - not just a cosmetic surgeon. There is a real difference.
Good luck
I am not sure if I am a good candidate for it. I am about 15 lbs overweight, I had a baby 5 months ago and just quit nursing. I am not sure how long should I wait.
Smartlipo is great way to get rid of localized fat deposit that is usually resistant to exercise. The best candidates for Smartlipo™ are men and women who:
- are in good health.
- have tried diet and exercise.
- have distinct areas of localized fats.
- have realistic expectations.
- realize that liposuction is not a treatment for obesity
The best way to make sure that you are a candidate is to schedule a confidential appointment with a board certified Plastic Surgeon in your area. Remember, any licensed physician or board certified physician in any specialty can market themselves as a cosmetic surgeon, but do your homework and choose Board Certified Plastic Surgeons for your safety.
Female. Early 20s. 5feet tall. 125 lbs. Areas of concern: Outer & inner thighs. (Hips 40in, thighs at largest area 23.5) Smart Lipo: Suctioning: 75ccs in inner thighs & 100ccs in outer thigs. 1 week post-op, some bruising, BUT I see NO difference whatsoever. Doctor, who is board certified, said it's still swollen & it'll keep improving. Is it possible that he didn't suction enough out? Is there a max perhaps? Should I redo procedure in 3 months? P.S. Lost 5lbs in recovery week dieting.
Based on you pictures, you probably have postoperative swelling. You should wait at least 3 - 6 months before considering a revision. I hope you surgeon is a board certified plastic surgeon. Make sure to follow up with your plastic surgeon.
