If You Get a Necklift Will It Affect a Future Facelift?

I am able to hold off on a facelift until next year. I am keeping things at bay with Dysport and Restylane I do though have a neck problem with soft beginning of a sagging there. Uneveness from lipo 10 years ago. Which comes first for best results? The face and than the neck? I feel like the horse or the cart asking this, but I think maybe a future facelift will affect the lay of the face. Thanks

A: Facial rejuvenation should be evaluated individually

Lower facial rejuvenation involves correction of aging changes to the neck, lower face and jowl and/or the cheeks.  The specific needs of each patient should  be addressed during a thorough consultation with your chosen surgeon.  I discuss the specific goals the patient has for aesthetic improvement and then go through options.  In some cases it is best to address all areas together, in others you may be able to address a single area, such as the neck, by itself.  It is certainly possible to perform lower facial surgery at a later time after having a necklift.  A more important consideration is whether a necklift alone will satisfy your current aesthetic needs.

Loose Neck Skin, What Options do I Have other than a Full Neck Lift?

I dont need a facelift but I have a small amount of loose skin under my chin and 2 folds on my neck. I don't want or need a neck lift as its only loose skin nor do I need lipo as its not fat. As its minimal I would like a local anaesthetic, why do doctors not want to do these minimal corrections? when sometimes these small defects affect peoples self confidence like big problems? I am sick of wearing scarves because I hate my neck folds.

A: Limited neck procedure can work.

Limited procedures can work very well depending on how much of a problem you have and how

much of a result you want.

A more limited procedure would mean a 1" incision under your chin with elevation of the skin off

or the muscles over the mid part of your neck.  This exposes the muscle bands that are causing the

folds that you see in your neck.  The muscle bands need to be sewed together and then divided at

the lower part to give you a much better neck line.  The skin has to be lifted enough to allow the

excess skin to be redistributed over the neck.  This works very well.

How Can I Address Deep Neck Creases? In My Early 20's.

I am in my very early 20's, and have had these deep neck creases since I can even remember and they are starting to extend down onto my collarbone. They bother me so much as NO ONE my age has this issue. I want to investigate some relatively inexpensive, non-surgical methods to drastically decrease these lines.

A: Softening Deep Neck Creases with Fillers I have seen this problem many times before, and they can be challenging to fix. Lifting the neck will not change these as they are movement folds. I have had success by filling these lines with Restylane or Juvederm. It's relatively simple and works quite effectively. Your surgeon must use a small size needle to allow placement fairly superficially in the skin. Hope this was helpful.
