I had lower transcutaneous bleph on both eyes and cheek lift thru temple/mouth incisions 8 weeks ago. its been misery! i noticed the doc put a stitch in the medial corner of my right eye, and now there is scarring and a droop in the lid (see pics). under the droop i feel a verticle line of possible scarring?? both eyes seem "wide eyed" with the left corner feeling pulled down as the day goes on. also, cheeks are so high my face is distorted when i smile. main concern is they eyes.
I personally do not do the transconjuctival cheek lift. I don't think it is anatomically a logical operation to do. Your appearance is fairly common after this operation, but many of the problems you are experiencing may be related to swelling. I wound not reoperate under any circumstances until the swelling has subsided. It is possible that the problems will vanish with the swelling and another operation will be unnecessary.
I would like to have something done to raise my cheeks. i am only 22 but with genetics I have drooping cheeks like my dad and my brother. I had buccal fat removal to reduce the roundness in my lower cheeks, but now it hurts to smile because i am having to "raise my cheek pads" When I smile it makes me look like I have golf balls in my cheeks.
Lifting of the cheeks would not be indicated in a 22 y/o. The picture is taken when the face is actively changed by smiling. Evaluation is impossible under this circumstance. The face must be neutral and several views are necessary.
Temporary volume enhancement is the place to start if anything is indicated. Restylane or Radiesse can enhance the volume of the cheeks with no down time and very modest risks.
Following my orthodontics treatment, I will have mandibular advancement surgery. But as you can see from the pictures, I also need a mid-face lift. I got different opinions from different surgeons regarding the order of the operations.I'm really confused.
Your mandibular advancement should be performed prior to any soft tissue procedures on your face. The advancement will influence the soft tissue i a positive way and may change you and your surgeon's plan.
