Can You Feel Calf Implants?

Can you feel calf implants in your legs? Does it feel like there is something constantly in there? Would it be uncomfortable moving around? Squatting? Crossing legs? Etc...

A: Can feel implants by touch, not spontaneously

Much like a breast implant, calf implants can be felt manually, but not when you are just  "sitting around doing nothing."  The discomfort will be the worst during the first couple of days, then it will subside for the next few, when it will feel like you did a heavy squat session the night before.  After 6-8 weeks you can squat or cross you legs, and even run long distance if you like.  The advantage of calf implants is that it will actually give you the pumped look of gastroc muslce as opposed to fat transfer which will only simply increase the girth.

Is Nerve Block Procedure in Calves Safe?

In Korea, there is a new procedure where they block certain nerves in your calf muscle to make your claves smaller. Is this safe?

A: Making calves smaller by nerve block works but will compromise function.

Muscles atrophy (get smaller) when not used.  A large calf placed in a cast for three months will atrophy substantially.  Using nerve block or Botox or direct nerve damage will result in wasting of the muscle which will also effect funtion.

What Can Be Done About Extremely Thin Legs?

I have the skinniest legs imaginable. I am certain it is a genetic condition in my family because my dad, brother and first cousin (all males) have the same problem. I know about calf implants but my main concern is what can be done for the ankle area? Attached is a picture of my legs. Thank you.

A: Calf implants are a good procedure for skinny legs.

Calf implants are a good way to treat skinny legs (below the knee).  They are simple to place and can even be done without general anesthesia.  I does demand about a 2 inch incision in the crease behind the knee so there is a small aesthetic trade off.  It is also easily reversed if the patient does not like the result.
