6 Weeks Post Op From Full Tummy Tuck with Lipo and Muscle Repair, Normal To Feel Pain on One Side?

hi i am 6 weeks post op from full tummy tuck with lipo muscle repair and breast uplift ,at the moment i am suffering from a real bad pain only on one side of my abdomen ,it feels like it is internal bruising ,is this normal there is no extra swelling and all scars are healing amazingly i went back to work (childrens entertainer )on day 15 and also have a two year old who i started lifting again after two weeks ,i just need advice as to whether this is to be expected cheers

A: Acceptable pain after tummy tuck

I am sorry about the pain you are experiencing.  This sort of pain at this time period is not unusual.  I would guess that approximately 5-10% of my patients experience such discomfort.  The good news is that 99.99% resolve after a period of time.  The most important action is a physical exam by your plastic surgeon to assure that you don't have a hernia.  Otherwise, treat the pain symptomatically with ice/heat (not directly on your skin) and anti-inflammatory medications.

Borderline Needing a Lift. Are Subglandular Silicone Implants Right for my Ptosis? (photo)

I've had consults with 3 PS's and am considering around 450cc silicone implants placed over the muscle. I don't want a lift at this time and one PS told me this would be my best option for a lifting effect without a lift. I don't have kids yet and would be open to a full lift in the future, instead of just having a circumareolar mastopexy now. Would HP or mod profile implants be best for upper-pole fullness? And would 450cc silicone in the subglandular position be appropriate for me?

A: Submuscular implant only and no lifting required

The submuscular position will look much more natural, less palpable, and decrease the chance of implant migration and malposition in the feature when compared with the implant on top of the muscle.  Futher, lookin at you profile pic, the nipple-areaola is in a perfect location (one centimeter above the fold under the breast), and thus no lifting required. This is indeed very good news, in that it avoids unnecessary scars on your breast.  I definitly agree with your decision about choosing silicone (softer/more natural).  Good luck.

12 Days After TT and Belly Button is Looking a Little Gray Inside. Is This Normal? (photo)

It is looking better since last week (using bacitracin) and less irritated looking. No drainage, just the bleeding and scabs, and no foul smell. Will the inside pink up with time or is the color a sign of my BB not healing properly?

A: Belly buttons usually heal very well

I think your belly button should be fine.  Sometimes the "gray" can result from lack or low blood flow to it, but even if it doesnt get any blood, the resulting scared belly button will look just fine.  Of course, I also encourage you to contact your plastic surgeon with any concerns immediatly.
