I Had Fat Transfer into my Cheeks Two Weeks Ago,is It Safe to Have Perlane?

I Had fat transfer in my cheeks two weeks ago, result is O.K I wasnt to have some perlayne put in my chin area for volume,is it safe to do this now, the perlayne is not going to touch the fat in my cheeks.

A: Best to wait a while before Perlane

This early after a fat transfer procedure you will almost certainly have some swelling.  Placement of facial fillers will be most effective when the facial contours can be accurately evaluated in the abscence of swelling.  For my patients, I recommend waiting at least 6 weeks for fillers after any surgical procedure, including fat transfer.  The issue here is not safety (it is safe to use fillers in this setting, especially in a different location) but rather optimal aesthetic evaluation.

Can I Have Perlane Injected After Recent Juvederm Injection?

I have recently had juvederm voluma injected into the cheek area to add volume, I am now considering perlane filler to the same area to give a little more volume as I have heard that Perlane is good for this area. My question is can I now have Perlane so soon after having Juvederm - are the 2 products contra indicated?

A: Multiple fillers work fine together

Perlane and Juvederm are both hyaluronic acid fillers. This substance is the gel-like material naturally found in your skin. The two fillers differ in density and cross-linking but there is not reason you could not use them in the same area.

Perlane for Crow's Feet?

I am getting Perlane on Monday. My wants to inject 2 syringes under my eyes for my flat cheeks. Will this filler also work on crow's feet? Will they get worse or fill out? i am concerned with that. Thank you.

A: Crow's Feet

Crow's feet develop from the repetitive action of the orbicularis oculi muscles which are circular muscles located around each eye and aid in lid closing. It is a muscle of facial animation. Repetitive action of the muscle bends (wrinkles) the skin over the outer eyelid; over time, like bending a paper-clip, the skin collagen will thin and break down, leading to creases or wrinkles!

Botulinum toxin relaxes the muscles, stops the paper-clip breaking action of the muscle and aids in ironing out the skin in this area. Once activity is minimized, the skin (paper-clip) will need to be repaired with a reconditioning approach : laser resurfacing, retin-A, etc. Filler in this area should be cautiously used if at all. The skin is very thin and risks of the Tindle Effect (visible filler beneath the skin which looks like a bruise) are high.

I hope this helps!

Good Luck!
