His focus was directed at raising the standards of hair restoration surgery, transforming it from yielding unsatisfactory cosmetic outcomes to achieving results of exceptional aesthetic appeal.

By 1998, Dr. Cole had already etched his name as a trailblazer, earning the distinction of being among the first diplomats of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). Subsequently, he played instrumental roles within the ABHRS, contributing significantly to both the examination committee and the board of directors. The year 2000 bore witness to Dr. Cole's leadership in the Newcomer program of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), a role he continued to embrace through 2001.

In 1998, Dr. Cole secured his inaugural patent, laying the foundation for pioneering surgical instruments. His subsequent accomplishments include six additional patents granted by the USPTO, alongside ongoing engagement in the development of several patent-pending devices. In 2003, he instigated a revolution in the field by introducing successful techniques for Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair restoration, coupled with the creation of indispensable tools integral to the procedure.

Amidst a tapestry of remarkable achievements, Dr. Cole established the first FUE clinic in Europe in 2003, followed by a pioneering FUE clinic in Asia in 2007. His innovative drive led to groundbreaking introductions, including the inception of the first complex motion profile device featuring oscillation for FUE in 2005. Dr. Cole's inventive prowess extended to the realm of punch design alterations, resulting in patent applications in 2006, with many of these designs subsequently becoming industry benchmarks.

Venturing into the realm of regenerative medicine in 2007, Dr. Cole left an indelible mark. In 2015, he pioneered a method to enhance platelet concentration by lysing platelets, achieving an impressive fivefold increase in high molecular weight proteins compared to standard activated PRP with calcium gluconate or thrombin. Significantly, Dr. Cole facilitated the introduction of topical finasteride to the United States in 2016, building upon the successes of a clinic he was instrumental in establishing in Rome, Italy. As a vocal proponent of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells for treating hair loss, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of advancing regenerative medicine.

Dr. Cole's resolute advocacy for FUE and his leadership in regenerative medicine for hair loss continue to radiate impact. Presently, he is immersed in the editorial process of a pioneering textbook dedicated to regenerative medicine for hair loss. Additionally, he assumes the role of vice president for the Academy of Regenerative Medicine and Surgery Society (AIRMES).
