Does Latisse Grow NEW Eyelashes

A: Latisse and New Eyelashes

Dear Patient from Vancouver,

Latisse does not necessarily cause new eyelashes to grow. A better description of its effects would be that Latisse wakes up sleeping eyelashes. All the hair in our body cycles through various phases of growth and rest.

Latisse causes those hairs in the resting phase to wake up and start growing again.

This is how this interesting medicaiton has its effects.

Good luck with your treatment.

Sincerely,

Adam J. Scheiner, M.D.

Is It Safe to Use Latisse After Blepharoplasty?

I had asian double eyelid surgery 1.5 weeks ago and I wanted to know if it was safe to use Latisse after blepharoplasty and how soon I can use it if so. Thank you very much in advance.

A: Latisse after Blepharoplasty

Latisse is safe to use after surgery and should not affect the wound unless you put excess pressure on the wound.

If you use it gently, you shouldn't have a problem but it should be discussed with your operating surgeon before

you begin using it again.

Sincerely,

Why Do You Have to Use a New Brush for Each Application on Each Eye with Latisse?

A: Latisse and Brush Use

Dear Patient from Lousville,

It is not necessary to use a separate brush for each eye. My patients usually use one brush for the whole treatment and then in addition use it on their eyebrows if necessary for lash growth there as well. If done in this way, my patients often find that the bottle lasts over a month and the brushes last during this whole time as well. Good luck with you treatment.

Sincerely Yours,

Adam J. Scheiner, M.D.
