Could someone please tell me what the depth of the injection of Restylane for the lips is? Would the injection be subcutaneous, or deeper? I'm currently having Restylane injections around the lip line and even 3 months after injection, I have vertical lines on the lips from the Restylane which I never had before. You can see lumps and bumps from the Restylane. Other people I see that have the Restylane injections for the lips do not have these visible lumps and bumps.
It is unfortunate that you had a side effect with Restylane. This is a a popular filler used around the lips intra--dermally. So it is injected into the middle layer of the skin called dermis. If the appropriate amount of the filler is used and injected into a correct skin layer, then resulting complications such as lumps and bumps are very rare. Therefore, if you are seeing these problems, please see your practitioner. There are ways to reverse some of these issues with hyaluronidase injections. Take care and good luck.
I had a half syringe under each eye with no results for dark circles.. Injector told me up front I need full syringe under each write, I'm going back in 2 wks for other syringe. Is it possible I wont see any results??
Dark circles under the eyes can be the result of several causes. Truly, only one of the causes is treated satisfactorily with fillers. Dark circles are generally the result of 1) Deep set eyes or a sunkeness of the lower eyelids that result in a shadowing effect, 2) darkening or hyperpigmentation of the skin (either hereditary, post inflammatory, or chronic inflammation), and/or 3) discoloration secondary to the vasculature underlying the thin eyelid skin. If your dark circles are the result of deep set eyes or a sunkeness of the lower lids, then Restylane is an excellent choice to fill this area (a concave surface). Furthermore, if this is indeed your case, 1 syringe per lower lid is completely reasonable.
I have had my upper and lower lids and skin resurfacing recently done and want to have Radiesse and Restalyn injections. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis, is it safe?
According to medical literature, we currently do not know if it is safe to use fillers such as Restylane or Radiesse in patients with chronic inflammatory disorders, such as ankylosing spondylitis. For now, there is no contraindication to use these products in patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Since your health is a priority, I would discuss this first with your physician who treats your ankylosing spondylitis. If you get a green light from your physician, you will feel more confident to undergo the procedure. Good luck.
