I am scheduled for a Tummy tuck & augmentation in 17 days. I lost 100 lbs over 3 yrs. Now 5'2-171 lbs and I can't loose any more-the lower abdomen below the naval has a considerable amount of hanging skin. I am going out of state for surgery. I have been on Medifast diet for 3 months to get to lowest weight before surgery. Should I go on a clean eatting plan? How can I best prepare?
I think you are doing fine.I would recommend getiing clearance from your internist before your surgery. As long as your weight has been stable for several months go for it.I wouldn't have it done and then lose another 20 or more pounds.Congratulations!
Opinions to lower my recent TT scar and lift my still sagging mons further include removal of an inch of skin below scar, extend scar, anchoring sutures, lipo to pubis. One suggestion to maximize how much the scar can be lowered is to release the belly button and lift the skin to just above it. Realself has very opposing views on umbilical floats with regards to a modified or mini TT. What are your opinions on this please if we’re just aiming to lower scar? Thank you for your time.
Updated here.
I agree with you in that your tummy tuck scar does look rather high, even though you have a very nice tummy tuck result overall. The best way to lower your abdominal scar is to wait at least six months to one year after your initial tummy tuck, then have a revisionary surgery to excise a couple centimeters of skin from below your lower abdominal scar. This will not only lower the tummy tuck scar that you currently have, but it will also raise and slightly flatten your mons as well. Best of luck.

My experienced, board certified PS says she has never seen this condition before. I am all pooched out above the incision line but flat below. It was all flat at first, but has gotten worse. She says its not a seroma or fluid she can aspirate. She said it was like the upper skin pulled up rather than the lower skin pulling down or something. She is saying may need to do lipo in a few months. I am sick. Is there anything I can do? Should I see another surgeon for an opinion?
This is not unusal because it is dependent swelling or edema above the incision.Gravity pulls everything down but the lymphatics have been cut and you get this swelling above.i would do pressure heat and massage. It may take soem time for it to go down.
