Can You Get Fat Grafting Done on Your Face After You Have Have Fillers Placed? Can I Get a BBL at the Same Time?

i am a small framed caucasian/asian 40 year old. Can I have fat grafting done on my face if I have had a filler Six months ago (hylaronia, I think that is how to spell it) but it has clearly worn off. I really want to have a Brazilian butt lift and have my crows feet and forehead worked on as well. I have been working on increasing my body fat % which is now 19%. I am wondering if I am a candidate for a BBL with no implants and if I would be able to address my face issues at the same time.

A: Brazilian Butt Lift can be combined with Fat Grafting to the Face

Hi there-

Provided you are a good candidate for your desired improvements, there should be no reason that they cannot be performed as you describe.

If fat is grafted into your face in the same area you previously had filler, and if some of the filler result persists at the time of fat grafting, it is possible that as the remaining filler material goes away your overall outcome is diminished, making it necessary to supplement it (either with more filler or more fat). In this regard it may behoove you to wait until you are confident the filler is gone.

Otherwise there should be no problem.

Am I a Candidate For Fat Transfer in One Breast Only? I Have Uneven Breasts and Already Had Encapsulated Implants Removed.

I am 42 5'2" & about 130 pounds. I had breast implants 20 yrs ago. They encapsulated and caused me lots of complications. I got them replaced & removed 4 years later. I now have uneven breast - 1 A cup & 1 AA cup & they are different shapes now. My question is -since Im not a candidate for implants, would you recommend fat grafting for me if I only want to inject fat into the smaller breast (AA) so that it can be the same size & shape as the (A) cup? How much fat would I need? thanks!

A: Fat Grafting works, but for Breasts Implants are Probably Still Best

Hi there-

In order to maximize safety and achieve the most natural result, grafting of fat to the breasts should be limited to areas needing small volume enhancement. It is also important that you understand the risks of the procedure complicating your future breast cancer surveillance.

On the other hand, I agree with Dr. Posner that your previous history with breast implants should not necessarily mean that you cannot achieve a pleasing, soft, natural result with implants in the future.

Can I Inject Fat into my Hips to Even out my Body For an Hourglass Shape?

I have a 29" waist and love handles that are 38" at the fullest part. When the love handle curve ends, the line goes in and then goes out for 42.5" hips. It looks like a triple curve on my body. 1) Is there a way I can just get fat injected into the line that goes back in so that way the love handle curve extends into my hips, making it look like an hourglass shape? 2) Does the fat need to be injected just at the sides or around the whole body? What is the procedure called, if it does exist?

A: Fat transfer for improvement in body shape is very successful- in the right hands

Hi there-

Without seeing you for a formal examination, it would be very difficult to say whether what you want is possible, or what your options would be.

On the other hand, please know that fat grafting for improvement in the shape of the waist, abdomen, back, buttocks, and thighs has been extremely successful when performed by a surgeon with a lot of experience in the technique. I would say that more than 75% of the reason patients are dissatisfied after this procedure is because they had it done by someone inexperienced and/or un-skilled in the technique (with most of the remaining 25% unhappy because they did not follow postoperative instructions).

The best way to be safe and to maximize your chances of achieving the beautiful and natural outcome you desire, is to find a surgeon you like and feel you can trust, and whose outcomes show the beautiful and natural long term results associated with skill, and talent. Visit them for a consultation and examination.
