Could I get similar results from lipodisolve as under-going liposuction? I surely rather not have invasive surgery!
Lipodissolve is not backed by the Plastic Surgery Societies. It is using drugs and chemicals off label so the side effects and toxicities are unknown. Currently, I have not seen or heard of any patient who is happy with their results. There might be FDA approval of a drug for this purpose in the future, but for now, stay away.
I am fearful of surgery and lipo. Is there a viable alternative to surgery, or is this the only way to get rid of tough to lose fat pockets?
I have been using Zeltiq for over 6 months. I am very impressed with its predictable, consistant, results. It is a no downtime procedure. It will remove about 25% of fat from the treated area. Some people will want to treat the same area more than once, and that is done about 2 months after the first treatment. Please see the article I've written on Zeltiq on this website and see the other answers about Zeltiq. I have also found that Zeltiq is a good option for repairing uneven liposuction contour problems.
I'm researching about traditional liposuction vs. Body Jet Liposuction. With regard to the volume of fat removed, how do the two compare?
There are no limitations as to how much fat can be removed with the Body Jet vs traditional lipo. If doing the procedure strictly with local, there is a limit to the amount of lidocaine which can be given, but this is similar to traditional liposuction using local. There are recommendations to limit removal to 2 liters at one setting under local and 6 liters under general anesthesia for all types of lipo.
