I want to know if the body lift recovery is going to require much time in the hospital because of the effects of the anaesthesia or other concerns?
Body contouring surgery can be performed with a combination of general anesthesia and the use of an epidural for postoperative pain relief. Pain pumps can also be used for isolated areas of postoperative surgery such as breast and abdominoplasty surgery.
I am 5ft 3in tall. Just had lap band put in place on Aug 19. My max weight was 320lbs (In June) and I am at 286ish now. I have been overweight most of my adult life but not considered morbidly obese until the birth of my now 4 year old daughter. I would like to be a healthier weight, between 140 and 160 to me, seems reasonable, is there a chance my skin will shrink to fit my body or is it likely that I will need surgery to get rid of loose sagging skin?
This is a very good question. In my experience, unfortunately, I have not seen patients be able to have their skin shrink and contour properly after the weight loss that you are talking about. Contour surgery will be necessary, and this may have to be performed for several anatomic areas, such as torso, abdomen, breasts, arms, thighs, back etc. Perhaps facial areas may be spared at this younger age, but this may have to considered as well. The good news is that you have reached a much healthier state with the weight loss, and the body contouring surgery can give you a very good result.
Good luck to you.
