I have a metal plate and screws in my ankle after breaking it a few years ago. Can I still get laser hair removal of some sort on my leg? None of the beauty therapists I ask know, so they won't do it do be safe. I was wondering if it might be ok though, since the laser works by being attracted to the dark color of the hair.
Getting laser hair removal will not be an issue. The laser targets the hair follicle and doesn't go deep enough to interfere with the metal in your legs.
I had my first session on my bikini about 3 - 4 months ago and at first the hair fell out and left about 30% hairs only, it was amazing, but now it has all grown back and is as dark and thick as it was before I got treated. The clinic is very busy and it is hard to get time off work so I have left it such a long time between treatments...will this affect the results and be a waste of money in the long run? Thanks to anyone who can help with this question. All advice is much appreciated.
Yes 4 months is too long. The recommendations are 8 weeks and based on the growth cycle of the hair follicle. I would recommend getting your second treatment now and then follow up every 8 weeks.
A few laser practioners I have been to have given me conflicting advice about the length of time I should wait between treatments. Some say 4-5 weeks is the ideal period while others have indicated 7-8 weeks is much better if one is to target a greater proportion of hair in the right growth phase. What is your view on the ideal length of time that one should wait between treatments?
The time between treatments for optimal results truly depends on the area being treated. Face is typically every 4 weeks. Neck and upper torso typically every 6 weeks. Bikini and lower extremities typically every 8 weeks. Of course the average amount of treatments is 6-8.
