Thigh Lift, Butt Lift, Arm Lift, and Lipo in One Procedure?

I need an arm lift, thigh lift, and butt lift with Liposuction. I come from Texas and was wondering, what is the average cost of these procedures in Texas alone? Can these procedures be combined safely? Also, I'm a 20-year-old college student so is there a way to get a cheaper combined package? I really don't plan on waiting any longer to get them done separately. Thank you for your time.

A: Combination of 4 procedures

My rule for combining procedures has to do with the total time under anesthesia for the patient.  If the patient is healthy, then I'll combine surgeries, as long as the total time doesn't exceed 6 hours.

In my opinion, it sounds like you want multiple areas treated.  Although I would have to evaluate you in person, it sounds like a bit much to do all at one time.  Sometimes breaking the surgeries into two smaller groups, each with an easier recovery, is really the best and safest thing to do.

Good luck!

Swelling After Bilateral Brachioplasty

Hello, I have swelling in my elbow joint which has started 6 days post brachioplasty, only in my left arm. Is this normal? Thanks

A: Swelling at elbow after arm lift

Hi.  your swelling is probably just normal, expected post-operative swelling.

It could also possibly be a fluid collection (seroma or hematoma), which might require treatment.  Your surgeon should take a look at it, just to make sure...

Will Tightening Arm Skin Leave Severe Scars?

I have lost about 100 lbs and I have super loose arms and arm-pit skin to the point that I look like an 80 year old woman and I am only 23.

I really want to get rid of it but am weighing the cost of having a major scar down my arm verses the extra loose skin. Is the scar as bad as people make it out to be? Is there something called and arm pit tuck to tighten the skin between the chest and arm pit?

A: brachioplasty scar

Yes - this is the classic trade-off:  we can remove the loose skin, but it will leave a scar.  Brachioplasty scars can be quite hypertrophic and sometimes ugly, despite everything we try to do.  The arm area just doesn't scar favorably.

So you have to ask yourself:  "Which would bother you more - the loose skin, or a red & ropey scar?"  It's a tough decision.  I usually draw the scar location with a felt pen on my patients, so they can imagine what it would be like for a few days before surgery.
