My eyes are inflamed and irritated and round now, with scars on each outer end of each eyes and blunted. My eyes look unattractive now, and I was wondering how difficult it is to fix a botched Blepharoplasty to where your eyes can feel good again, and actually look good too? My eyes are pulling down at each end, giving me more of the Bassett Hound look. Thanks for your advice and help. Jill
Lower Blepharoplasty can be a complicated procedure and what you are describing as scleral show or ectropion is a common complication. As it has been a year already and you are still having problems, it is most likely that you will need some type of surgical repair to correct this. It hopefully is a fixable problem if too much skin has not been removed but make sure whoever you chose to correct this problem is very experienced with lower lid surgery so that you don't make the problem worse.
I will be taking one hydrocodone/apap 7.5/500mg tablet and one diazepam 10 mg 1/2 hour prior to the surgery and given a local numbing injection. Do you know from your experience if this a comfortable option compared to general sedation? Plus have you performed this surgery without the protective eye lens cover?
In more than 20 years of experience I often perform upper eyelid blepharoplasty under local anesthesia with only a Valium pill by mouth. When injected with a gentle hand and a tiny needle patients most often find it easily tolerable. I have never seen a plastic surgeon use eye shields for isolated upper lid surgery.
I went for a rhinoplasty consultation and the doctor said I should consider doing a blepharoplasty because like an asian person I did not have a fold. I had it done and my eyes are so different. I have an eye lid fold but my eyes are much larger and round. Will I ever get my eyes back? It's been almost a year. It has gotten better but I look totally different. Will I get to look like before over time or is this permanent? Can I go back to more almond eye shape?
We assume you mean after surgery on your lower eyelids. Rounding of your lower eyelids a year after lower lid bleph can easily be tightened with a lid tightening procedure.
