my facelift scars are horrible. 2-3mm white line all along forehead hairline its also dented in. same kind of scar in front of both ears, along the semicircle under my ear and down into neck area , also behind my ears. all are very visable. some are larger with deep recesses in them and all are white and can not be covered with any kind of makeup even Kryolan. what can i do? my hair cant cover any if these because of "cowlicks" etc. its been 8 years and im tired of trying to hide them or have
Some Facelift scars can be improved with simple excision and some scars actually require a revision Facelift in order to correct the problem. The reason for this is that most unsightly scars occur due to inappropriate skin tension at closure. Simple excision can sometimes represent a repetition of the initial mistake.
I have a venous lake on my inside lower lip and would like to have it removed successfully with no scarring. I understand the best treatment is with a laser. I wonder if you can recommend a specialist in London UK to carry out the procedure? Many thanks. Sue
Venous lakes are classically treated with surgery, but they are very well treated with one or two treatments using an 810nm hair removal device. A physician with some advanced knowledge may use these long-pulsed 810nm devices (i.e. Lightsheer), thus surgery, anesthesia, and time is not needed. I usually am able to treat it without any brusing with one treatment that does not require anesthesia or result in any downtime. Not sure of anyone in the UK who may be able to offer this service.
I had esophagus surgery on June 13, today is September 15 and I still have scabs that hurt and have a red rim around them. what would cause this? attached are two pictures of two separate wounds. Please advise. thanks. Patricia
It is difficult to tell and I am not a GI surgeon, but sometimes the dermal sutures that placed underneath the skin are 'rejected' by the skin in some patients. The skin will sometimes try to 'spit' it out and this may result in some scabbing and redness. My recommendation would be to see the original surgeon and if this is the case, they can easily try to remove it.
