I am Asian,27,female.I have some deep Acne scars, and just finished the 4th fraxel restore a month ago.If I wanna achieve the best result, regardless of the time and money,(but safty is always important!I dont wanna leave any new scars by the treatment.)Should I continue to do fraxel restore or choose repair instead? How many fraxel restore are equal to one repair according to ur experience?THX!!
If you can stretch the skin of the scar and find that the scar disappears, then Fraxel Restore can work quite well if not equally as well as Repair if there have been enough treatments. The numerb fo Restore treatments to Repair treatments is a million dollar question. No one knows. However, if the scars do not disappear when you manually stretch the skin, then I would agree with Dr. Persky that your best bet is the Repair. Multiple treatments are better than one, but sooner or later you run into the law of diminshed returns.
I believe Fraxel Repair can help with tightening, can it do this on breasts ? I am 28 years old and I can always remember having stretch marks, the elasticity in my breasts is very weak, I have loose, dry, stretched skin? Will Fraxel Repair leave demarcation lines ? i.e. clear lines where the laser has treated - stopped and started. I wouldn't want the breasts to look fresh and tight and the colour on the chest to look older. Is there another alternative to Fraxel Repair ?
There have been some small clinical studies demonstrating the benefits of Fraxel on stretch marks. There are some technical concerns when using this device on the breasts so as long as the physician is safe, it should help. It will not remove the stretch marks, but will improve them. The study demonstrated that most patients had a >50% improvement with two treatments.
Safety is key, so please be sure that you have this done by an experienced laser surgeon
I had an endoscopic brow lift in 2004. It still looks great. However, my mouth wrinkles are bad and neck needs a little help! I have some sun damage all over. I'm confused about going with Fraxel Repair for the whole face and neck or some type of lift. Please help. I am 56 years old.
Based on the photograph I see, my feeling is that Fraxel will provide little benefit as a primary treatment. The reason for this is that the primary problems aesthetically are platysma muscle and cervical skin laxity (I cannot see the jawline). There is no laser in the world that will address the muscle laxity (platysmal bands). However, there is definitely a role for fractionated skin resurfacing after a Facelift which will augment the skin tightening effect.
