It's been 4.5 weeks since my facelift. My neck is lumpy and a rather large scar is visiable. If people look staright at me, they cannot see since it's under the chin but if I turn my head they can see it. My lower left cheek has a VISIBLE walnut size swelling. And my left cheek has a once-inch veritical visible "thingy" (looks like a smooth rope under the skin). I'm seeing my plastic surgeon in a few days but will these go away or I am stuck with them forever?????
It is far, far too early to make a judgment on your final result. You can expect some degree of incisional redness, in addition to areas of swelling which are most likely related to lymphatic edema. Gentle finger tip massage, and more importantly.... time are likely to help.
I look so old and tired. My eye lids are droopy and I noticed that my forehead skin is loose now as well.I have bags under my eyes and on my cheeks (puffy), marionette lines and nasolabial folds.I stay out of the sun, don't smoke, use moisturizers, wear sunscreen, etc and it just keeps getting worse. I have tried an injectable filler for my nasolabial folds but it didn't help. My right side is worse than my left side, but it is quickly catching up.
I believe the primary issue is volume loss. This would be more common at your age than looseness of the skin unless you lost a significant amount of weight. I agree with the other physicians who recommend that you have a complete examination by your primary care doctor and rule out any medical issues which may account for the volume loss or weight loss.
I do not believe that a surgical procedure is necessary. I don't see enough laxity to make a facelift necessary. I do believe you have had a loss of facial volume in the form of loss of facial fat which could be augmented with the use of injectable fillers like Restylane or Juvederm or a volumizer like Sculptra. These products can be administered in a minimally invasive way with little or no downtime and they will offer a relatively long lasting result.
Thank you for your question.
Below ear and neck are very numb, neck is wrinkled and lumpy. Can this be normal in a 9 day post-op facelift. Will wrinkles go away? I had drainage tubes in right side for 1 week and believe that is why it is wrinkled still. Appreciate any feedback you might have and thank you.
Typically the skin should be smooth after this procedure. Any irregularities that are small will usually resolve on their own without any intervention. If the irregularities are larger and more obvious it may be a larger problem that may need some attention by your plastic surgeon. I would keep in close contact with your surgeon during the next couple of weeks to be sure this is treated appropriately.
Thank you for your question.
