I've had surgery in june 2011 in order to reduce the appearance of my nose. While I'm generally satisfied with the results, I feel the surgery left something to be desired. My main concern is the vertical length of my nose. During the surgery the tip was raised somewhat to ameliorate this however, I would see the length reduced further. Now I understand that I have a slightly longer face, so any tips as how to improve the general balance and symmetry of my facial features would be appreciated!
The nose can appear shorter or longer depending upon the angle at which a photo is taken. A side view would help as well to make a better assessment. However if you feel your nose is longer than you would like it would be possible to shorten it further if your surgeon felt he could do so in an aesthetically pleasing way. It would be advisable to wait at least 9-12 months from your first surgery before proceeding. See several surgeons before committing to a revision procedure. Best of Luck Dr Harrell
I had a rhinoplasty back in 2008 but it was only to remove the dorsal hump that I had. I've always disliked the size of my nose but it's always been the one thing that I'm terrified to get done. (michael jackson) So when I had the surgery done, i was too scared to do anything to its size. I was very happy with the results but now I'm back to wanting my nose to be a bit smaller and daintier. Is it possible to do? What would have to be done? Would the bone have to be broken? Is it too risky? Thnx!
There are a number of techniques for revision rhinoplasty, that any experienced surgeon could review with you and make you realize what exactly could be realistically done to make your nose appear smaller.
I am a 21 year old female and three weeks ago had rhinoplasty to correct a deviated septum, droopy tip and overprojecting bump. I foolishly trusted every word the surgeon said and I came out looking like a pig/cow creature. This is not an overexaggeration, I am too ashamed to leave the house and though my ps said the tip will drop the bridge is ski-sloped and even in its swollen state looks like a tiny elf nose of a humans face! How long until I can have a revision and can it be fixed?
I am so sorry this has happened. First of all, it is still early, so I would give things some time to improve- likely a minimum of 3 more months. Second, there are a number of techniques that an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon can utilize to deal with the situation you describe.
