How Long Does Perlane Take to Work?

I had two syringes of perlane injected to my smile lines one on each side. I can feel the area is full however, I don't see a difference in the lines. I can feel the lump where she injected. It feels like the perlane is deeper in the skin while the folds are not so deep is it possible I needed restylane instead of perlane? Why does perlane cause lumps? Does it have anything to do with how it is injected?

A: Perlane in the smile lines

Without a photograph to evaluate, I cannot give you an accurate assessment.  However, I generally expect immediate correction/results when injecting hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane/Perlane, Juvederm Ultra/Ultra plus).  Occasionally, some swelling at the time of treatment can obscure the final result; but nontheless, I can see whether or not I've corrected the area.  Perlane is a thicker, more robust, filler than Restylane, and is generally injected a bit deeper than Restylane.  For a up to a week post-treatment, it is possible to feel lumps due to swelling.  My general rule of thumb is to wait for 2-3 weeks for determining if additonal filler is needed to complete the desired correction.  It would not be unreasonable to layer Restylane on top of your Perlane, should you desire further filling of your smile lines.  A picture is worth a thousand words....bring a photo to your follow up visit.  Good luck.

Is This Tyndall? Should I Have This Filler Resolved? (photo)

The surgeon put in 3 vials of perlane in one eye and 2 in another. I now realise that this is a crazy amount although it does not look like it was over filled. However I now have two blue/brown stains under my eyes. I had a black eye for 2 weeks and I have had this for the remaining 3 weeks. It is darker in real life than the picture. Is it safe to dissolve all of that filler? I am 22 years old with very deep hereditary circles.

Are you sure you had 3 full syringes of Perlane? Sounds like quite a bit. Residual ecchymosis at 2 weeks is normal if you have this discoloration at 3 months I might think the Tyndall effect.

Vertical Wrinkle from Eyelid to Brow, Would Perlane be a Good Solution?

I am 47 and had upper eyelid surgery in 2008 (3 years ago) I am happy with result but.. I have 3 deep vertical wrinkles from eyelid to eyebrow, almost as if too much skin was removed and there is spare above the incision.. like it puckered almost.. it really gets me down, can these be filled with say perlane? they're quite deep? & In the past i had sculptra and radiesse in another sleep line next to my chin upwards (not nasal labial fold) and these treatments barely improved it, would perlane?

First try Restylane (shorter lasting) just to be sure you like the appearance. Just as Dr Steinsapir stated.
