Six weeks ago a surgeon (urologist/FACS, excellent resume, referred by my dermatologist) sewed my perineum/labia up over the opening to my vagina, covering it like a biological chastity belt. I can't have sex or a gyne exam and am in pain from the pulling/tearing at that spot (she says I'm healing well). How do I find someone to correct? She tore right labia minora and made it one third the size of left labia minora, but I'm not correcting that--too painful.
You really need an exam by a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. Complications are very common in labiaplasty as this procedure is very simple but requires good judgement and diagnoses to stay out of trouble. Most patients with similar complaints can be corrected using a combination of z-plasty and fat grafting to restore a natural appearance and comfort with sexual activities. I hope this helps and I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune!
All the best,

Why Do You Have to Wait 6 Months After Breastfeeding to Have Labia Reduction Surgery?
It sounds as if you have received a recommendation to wait six months after breast feeding to have labia reduction performed. The best person to get the rationale from is the person (physician?) who instructed you in the first place. You will likely receive different recommendations from different physicians. I do not see a scientific reason for this particular recommendation. However, pregnancy and childbirth certainly cause physical changes to the genitalia and just like changes to other areas of the body with pregnancy, there is a period of several months after childbirth where your body will continue to change and it is likely that this is the reason for waiting.
I will be getting labiaplasty and don't know which method to choose. While other women want to preserve sensation in their labia minora, all I feel is pain when they are touched. The edges have been crushed by years of horse riding. One surgeon wants to cut out a section in the middle, which preserves the natural edge. She thinks the painful edge will stop being painful once it's protected by the labia majora again. I'm doubtful. Has anyone had this experience? Any advice?
As discussed by the other surgeons, there are two main choices regarding surgical technique in labiaplasty. If you are comfortable with your surgeon and the explanation you have received, I would advise you to follow that recommendation. You will likely benefit from either technique performed well. Of course, any time you are operating to alleviate pain, there are no guarantees that the pain will be completely alleviated or at all. However, in your case and cases similar to yours, it is reasonable to expect a significant improvement.
