Is It OK to Get Thermage if You Have Already Invested a Lot in Fillers Like Restylane?

I have had Restylane put in several locations on my face. If it weren't for the fillers, I would have a substantial amount of sagging under the eyes and through the cheeks even though I am only 36 years old. I'm beginning to see sagging at my jowl line, at the sides of my chin. Wondering if Thermage is advisable for someone who has already invested quite a bit in fillers with good results. Does Thermage complement fillers?

A: Thermage and fillers

We frequently perform Thermage in patients who had filler treatments in the past.  Many patients benefit from a muti-faceted approach incorporating fillers for volume replacement, lasers for skin texture, brown spots, and blood vessels, and radiofrquency for tightening.

Is There Anyway to Anticipate Potential Fat Loss or Side Effects from Thermage?

I had a Thermage treatment last month I haven't noticed a change. However, I am now concerned about potential facial fat loss. When I had the procedure, I wasn't told that it was a risk. I had the treatment on the latest machine at levels 2-3 on the entire face. It was performed by a physician trainer who is employed by the Thermage machine manufacturer. I suffered no burns, no anesthetic was used, and I experienced moderate pain. How will I know if I am in the clear?

A: Does Thermage cause Fat Loss?

I concur with the other physician comments, the current protocol for Thermage of no anesthesia, with treatment to minimal pain tolerance does not result in fat loss.  The results frequently take 3 to 4 months to be visible, and ultimately patient satisfaction is in the 85-90 percent range.

Does Thermage Reduce the Appearance of Icepick Scars on the Cheeks?

Does Thermage Reduce the Appearance of Icepick Scars on the Cheeks?

A: Thermage for ice pick scars?

As Dr Mandrea suggests, Thermage is a skin tightening device so scars that don't go away when the skin is stretched, will not go away with Thermage.  The CROS technique he describes is of great value, is cheap and effective.  Other means of adressing these scars are punch excision, dermabrasion and laser resurfacing - although these are more expensive and involve downtime.
