Does it need to be re-done after a certain number of years, like breast implants, or is it expected to last a lifetime?
As stated by the other physicians, a solid silicone implant can last a lifetime. Solid silicone does not reabsorb and again, because it is solid, there is no concern with it leaking. Best of Luck, Dr. Clevens
hi there, this is lubna, i wanna know that is the chin implant(silicone) is permanent?with the passing of time is there will decrease its volume/bone absorbtion and as a result it will be like before chin implant? after few years do i need to be replaced the old one(silicone)? actually my problem is my double chin and my doctor says to do chin implant,i dont want like this complications, if i want to do neck lift/chin lift for my double chin instead of chin implant then what is your suggetions?
As stated by the other physicians, a solid silicone implant can last a lifetime. Solid silicone does not reabsorb and again, because it is solid, there is no concern with it leaking. Many of my patients that are seeking to Improve their chin and neck elect to have chin implant surgery along with necklift surgery. Without seeing you first, it is difficult to suggest what procedure or combination of procedures might best address your concerns. Best of Luck, Dr. Clevens
Hi, I'm a 20 year old male. I've identified the areas that I believe could benefit from surgery. -Tip of nose too large. -Nostrils appear too large. -Nose not straight. -Chin doesn't reach bottom lip. Note: the left ear pokes out due to a recent partial parotidectomy (this is being dealt with). Am I a good candidate for these surgeries? Thanks.
Our Boney Facial structure helps to define our appearance. A weak chin makes your nose appear more prominent. Often times, I suggest a chin implant to improve results from nasal plastic surgery.
I agree with my colleagues that the adjustments need only be minor and very conservative in your case, however, I do think the result would be noticeable and give you better facial balance and harmony.
I would suggest a small chin/jowl implant and widening the bridge of your nose along with a tip refinement to achieve this balance.
Be sure to have simulated video imaging performed prior to having the procedure to make sure that you and your sugreon are on the same page.
