I'm considering a breast lift. What can I expect during breast lift recovery?
Generally speaking, recovering form a breast lift is easier than other cosmetic procedures. There is little discomfort that is often controllable with tylenol. You may or may not have drains; I usually do not use them for a lift.
I allow my patients to shower a day or two after the proceudre. I ask them to take it easy for a few days, then back to regular activity. I limit the use of the gym and exercise for about a month, but I alter that depending on how things are healing. Most patients return to work after 4-5 days.
Will a Mastopexy get rid of skin that has been stretched because of Breast Implants? I wish to have my implants taken out and want to know if the skin will remain stretched out after a mastopexy?
A breast lift (mastopexy) can reduce and tighten the skin that has stretched as a result of having breast implants. After the implants are removed, the breast skin is stretched and may or may not contract. A mastopexy may need be performed in order to tighten the skin. I recommend that you seek a board certified plastic surgeon experienced with this, as performing a lift after breast implant removal can be risky.
Good luck.
