Hi, I had Perlane injected in my cheeks where previosly i had sub q. The results are terrible, i have huge rounded cheeks when i smile. Also i have developed two round lumps lower down on my cheek, i think this may be the sub q that was pushed down I am worried about having it dissolved as i have read on several reveiw forums that this can result in natural tissue dissolving. However I am at the stage of not leaving the house and was wonderng if there is any other way of removing the Perlane.
There is a product called hyaluronidase that will desolve this filler but may leave you uneven in regards to the opposite cheek. Your surgeon can inject this into the same area in order to disolve some of the filler you had put in.
If you can live with the results, then wait it out. The filler is elliminated from your body slowly and over the next few months will go away enough so that if may not bother you anymore. Good luck, Erez Sternberg, MD.
I recently had Botox and Perlane for my cheek area. It looked great the first time, so I came back for a follow-up. We thought the right side of my face looked a bit flatter than the left, so I agreed to have a bit more filler on it. He did some touch-up on the left side too.
Now the results are disastrous--my face looks good when I make no expressions, but my cheeks look too plump when I smile. It looks so wrong on my heart-shaped face! Will this eventually go down, or can I have it removed?
How long has it been since you were injected this most recent time? If less than two weeks, wait some more for any residual swelling to go down before taking any corrective actions. If it has been longer than two weeks and you just can't live with the results, there is a product call hyaluronidase that will desolve this filler but may leave you uneven again. Your surgeon can inject this into the same are in order to disolve some of the filler you had put in.

I have pretty deep nasolabial folds. My injector has offered me my choice of fillers. I would prefer Perlane or Juvederm Ultra Plus, both of which he said would be good choices for me. (I don't really want to try Radiesse quite yet since that one can't be dissolved if I don't like the results). Which of those 2 fillers do most doctors think lasts longer? Does anybody have a good reason for preferring one of those over the other? I can't find any comparisons online. Thanks!
The short answer is: whichever one you get the best deal on. As you can see from the answers to your question, both are very similar HA (hyaluronic acid) fillers and last about the same amount of time, 6-9 months. So, find a good plastic surgeon and use the one that saves you money. Most offices, like ours, will carry both products.
