Some doctors can do liposculture with tummy tuck at the same time but other say it's risky. I'm confuse, is safe to have lipo in the mid area at the same time of the tummy tuck?
Yes it can be safe to perform liposuction with a tummy tuck. The surgeon needs to be careful to avoid suction in areas that have been undermined and elevated. Even with a standard abdominoplasty the sides and hips should be able to be suctioned safely. There are also techniques with minimal undermining that allow suction of the midsection safely. Check with your plastic surgeon to see what technique he or she will use.
I had Liposculpture 2 weeks ago, and I'm still a few pounds heavier. I can see no difference apart from my back. I had my back, thighs, hips, and upper/lower abs. My stomach area doesn't look any diffferent. The surgeon made incisions 2 under my breasts and 1 on my belly button. Does this mean he did my whole stomach? Is this what they usually do when you want upper and lower abs done or does the whole area get done? I seem flat at the top, bigger in middle, then flat down. Any advice? Thanks.
Hi there-
Any liposuction procedure will result in a fair amount of swelling, and this swelling will keep you from full appreciating your outcome until it has resolved.
This resolution occurs over about 3 months, and over that time you should be seeing ongoing improvement as it does go away.
With regard to your other questions, it is important to realize that only your surgeon knows the details of how your surgery was performed and what exactly was done to you.
I suggest you give the office a call.
can a cosmetic surgeon tell me more about the liposculpture option. Does it work on saddle bags (my main problem)?
Hi there-
One of the things I do not like about my chosen specialty is the way that some providers try to gain the attention of patients by inventing cute new names for procedures. So, along these lines,
Liposculpture = Liposuction
Mini-facelift = Lunchtime lift = quick lift, etc...
Don't be fooled. I personally am offended when I think someone is trying to aggressively sell me something by giving it a cute name.
