How is Dysport Used for eyelid spasms?

How often would treatments be needed for Blepharospasm? Monthly? Will it help the same day?

A: Blepharospasm

I have used both Botox and dysport for blepharospasm. The onset for dysport is usually 3 days. A very small dose is only needed. Both last around 6 months in my experience. Get someone with experience and preferably a facial plastic surgeon.

How Many Units of Dysport Should I Be Given?

The 1st time I had Dysport I had 140 units in total, 50u to my frown, 30u to each eye & 30u to my forehead, she mixed with 2.5mls but this time I saw someone different and had 21 units to my frown, 12u to each eye & 10u to my forehead, she mixed with 2.8mls so have I had enough? & why is it mixed different? Its only been 2 days but after comparing my records between the two I'm now worried I havn't had enough as I am going away for a few weeks so would rather go back now if I do need more?

A: Dysport is an excellent option 140 units of dysport is on the higher side for dosing. The second injection was most likely Botox since not very many places especially medical spas offer dysport. Either way you should wait the 3-7 days for whichever was injected to work and if you are unhappy either go somewhere else or go back and state your concerns.

Dysport Side Effects - What Are Common Complications?

i am trying to decide on Dysport for wrinkles in my forehead area...but worried the drug is so new that the side effects of Dysport are yet to be fully discovred...can the doctors share what are the side effects they are sseing with Dysport so i can be better informed?

A: Dysport side effects similar to Botox

Dysport has been used for many years in Europe and has a long track record for safety. From personal experience using it here and talking to colleagues who have used it for awhile, the side effects appear very similar to Botox. There is the risk of bruising like with any needle stick, minor headache, incomplete effect and small risk of temporary ptosis (drooping of eyelid or eyebrow) which is more injector dependent than really product related. I hope this information helps.
