Hi there, Almost two years ago after 3 back to back pregnancies i had my 275cc saline implants replaced with 375cc HP silicone. At the time I was afraid of the anchor scar so I did a donut lift instead. I'm now considering going back for the lift but I'm concerned my breasts will end up looking smaller. Im a 34DD in VS brand bras...Will I need a larger implant with the lift to keep my large size? Thank you:)
Hi there-
There is no reason that a well-done breast lift would actually reduce the amount of breast/implant volume you have enough for you to feel they look smaller (in fact most women feel they look a tad larger once the tissue is re-distributed).
On the other hand, because the breast mound is now distributed over a smaller area, some women do feel more comfortable in a different bra size than the ones they used to wear.
I hope that helps you- good luck!
I have consulted a board certified PS & am in process of scheduling the surgery. Dr. has said for perkiest look go for a full lift w/ augmentation, and for a more natural look go with a donut lift w/ augmentation. Below are photos of the look I'm after & my own breasts. I know "perky" and "natural" have different definitions depending on each person. Which lifting would bring mine to the same position and shape? I know all breasts are different, I am simply going for that "style" in the pics
Hi there-
Based on your goals and current photos, I do think that you will get the best outcome with a breast lift and an implant- probably silicone for the most natural appearance.
Which technique would be best is going to depend a lot on details that could not be understood without examining you, and your surgeon's skill and experience with the technique, so it would not be (in my opinion) responsible for me to tell you which technique you should go with.
I CAN tell you that each technique changes the shape of the breast in a different way, and that this is predictable. In other words, the different techniques for lifting of the breasts should NOT be thought of as interchangeable, with the decision being based on the scar you want or the amount you want to pay. Too often these decisions are made based on these factors- and this is the most direct cause of the extreme unhappiness some women experience after breast lifting.
6 months after surgery, patients never remember that they told their surgeon they wanted a particular breast lift because it came with a cute little scar, or that they wanted to save money- they only remember that they are unhappy with their funny looking breasts.
And I wholeheartedly agree with my colleague from Memphis that breast lifts done around the nipple are over-used and almost always lead to a funny, somebody operated on my breasts kind of a look.
As for operations with cute sounding, gimmicky names, run away from them and anyone recommending them to you.
I just want to say thank you to all who have responded to my first post. I was just in shock to hear that my breasts were that bad. until I took the pictures My partner and I were unaware just how asymetrical my breasts actually are. I have decided that I am going to go ahead with the lift, I just hope that I can achieve my look without a vertical scar. (I'm hoping he will be able to just lift around the areola?) how much longer will the lift add to my recovery. A MASSIVE THANK YOU to all that took time to help.
Hi there-
the breast lift will not add one bit of pain or time to your recovery. Best wishes
