Please, if anyone out there can help me or give me advice on how to get rid of my muscular arm. I never go to the beach and I'm embarassed to where sleeveless shirts or dresses. I just want to be feminine, please help!!! I'm 29yrs old, 110lbs and 5.1" tall. I'm always told I'm beautiful but I don't believe it because I know what I look like when naked. This has ruined all my relationships and I've been single for over 3yrs now!!!
I completely agree with Dr. Shureih. You sound like you have body image and self esteem issues. This is the worst reason to have surgery performed, because it doesn't heal you emotionally and often makes patient's feel worse because now they have scars that you didn't even need in the first place. Please don't seek out surgery until you fix your mindset first, because you will surely find someone that will operate on you even if it not best for you. Good luck.
I am 30 yrs old,124 pds/size 2-4 but my arms seem super flabby and out of proportion with my body. I was obese when I was a child and ever since it seems I have carried excess weight on my arms. I was a size 6-8 until a few months ago and thought that was the problem but now I am starting to believe it is excess skin. I am making an appointment for an augmentation after I have a baby (I am not yet pregnant) and wanted to fix this problem as well but was curious which procedure is needed? Thanks!
This is a very frequent question from patients and a good one to ask. There is quite a big difference between the two procedures and the right procedure for you could be a combination of the two. Without seeing you in person and taking some measurements, it is a bit difficult to say for sure. From the photos and your background history, I would suggest having aggressive upper arm liposuction (with or without laser lipolysis depending on availability in your area) at the same time as your breast augmentation. This will leave you with minimal scars and may produce acceptable results all while you are healing from your augmentation anyway. At the worst case senario, if after six months you are happy with everything but still have a little excess arm skin that hasn't completely resolved or tightened, you could then sign up for a short scar arm lift and save the large skin excision needed for a full upper arm lift or brachioplasty. Hope this helps.
i had arm lift done 4 years ago due to weight loss, i have lost more weight, i was considering another arm lift. can i get another arm lift? i have loose skin.
Absolutely, a secondary or revision arm lift can easily be performed providing you are still a good surgical candidate. It is common to loose more fat as time goes by and therefore you may have a recurrence of the loose skin in the upper arms. A board certified plastic surgeon can go back through the same incisions you once had and remove more skin and fat, leaving you with only one scar. The best part is that the surgery will likely be less painful and you may have less swelling this time around. Just make sure it have been at least one year since the original surgery so that scarring is minimal. Hope this helps- Erez Sternberg, MD.
