What Can Be Done to my Bulky Nose in a Revision Rhinoplasty? (photo)

I had a closed rhinoplasty 7 months ago. I am unsatisfied with my results. My nose is too bulky. The sidewalls of my nose are too thick and wide. I wish my nose could become thinner, the tip more pointed and the dorsum more curved. To what extent are my expectations realistic? What other resolutions do you recommend? Do I need a revision in the first place? How bad or good are my results? I also don't breath well and my surgeon has no explanation to that.

A: Correcting a 'Bulky' Nose with Revision Rhinoplasty

So much can ride on the expectations of a patient having Rhinoplasty. Hopefully your hopes and the surgeon's ability to set expectations coincide. However your surgeon may have done exactly what he thought you wanted and may be happy with the result, even though you are not. At this point I would recommend waiting it out for a year from the date of surgery before attempting any revisional surgery. At that point it would be important to know what was done to the nose during the first surgery and to see preoperative photographs as well. Then an exam to determine the skin thickness and the amount of cartilage support would be needed. It will likely be possible to further narrow your nose and create a narrower tip if that is your desire. However, make sure you are being seen by a surgeon well versed in Rhinoplasty. Should I Get a Nose Job? (photo)

I would appreciate a professional view on whether I should get a nose job or not. I just can't get an objective view of it - in some light it seems to be tolerable, but in some light settings, when I look at it in the mirror, it looks awful.

A: Should I get a Nose Job?

First, you have to identify what is really concerning you about the appearance of your nose. A surgeon can make suggestions- but within the context of what is specifically bothering you. I can look at your nose and see features that would make the nose look more balanced and refined. However what I am seeing may not be what you want to change. It sounds like the appearance of your nose is concerning you and a visit with a surgeon who is experienced in Rhinoplasty will probably put things in perspective as to what can be done to give you the appearance you are looking for. What Kind of Abdominoplasty Could Work for Me? (photo)

Had twins, now my belly looks like shown. Considering ‘having it fixed’/improved. Not so much concerned about belly’s flatness (or lack thereof), it’s more the extra and torn skin I’d like to get rid of! Is it possible to fix this? Would that be a full TT, or mini? I keep reading a mini TT doesn’t do much/doesn’t take out enough skin, on the other hand I’ve seen those hip2hip scars from full TTs that .. aren’t overly pretty either. I do have a C-sec scar though, could the surgeon work w this?

A: Mini Tummy Tuck vs. Full Tummy Tuck after Pregnancy

The problem with the 'Mini Tummy Tuck' is that it means different things to different people. I prefer to use the term 'Modified Tummy Tuck' which frequently is anything but 'mini'. In a modified TT the scar is typically shorter  than in a full TT. The skin excision is also less. However, I will frequently tighten the muscles just the same as when a full TT is performed. Even though the excess, damaged skin is the main issue, you would benefit from tightening of the muscles as well. Looking at your photos you would best benefit from a full TT rather than a limited one. Best of Luck Dr Harrell
