Hi Dr. I'm about to turn 21 very soon and have made the decision to have my mole removed. I've had my mole since I was seven. It is located right in between my eyebrows, and is a bit smaller than a pencil's eraser. Because of its location, I am extremely nervous about having it removed, but I feel as though it is now or never. How can I go about finding the right doctor? A mole may be removed by a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. Either way there is always a risk of a scar. I would recommend that you find a dermatologits or plastic surgeon you trust and rely on their advice after evaluating your mole in regards to scar potential after removal.
I have a mole on the border of my lip that I need to have removed because it is malignant, but I'm not sure if I should let my dermatologist remove it. Because it is located on my face (and because I don't want to look deformed after it is removed), I am wondering if I should go to a plastic surgeon or a facial plastic surgeon instead.
