I'd like to have an - Internally placed chin implant.. to have no scars - Be able to see it be placed while in the operating room... so I can see that I like it. - Have a little bit of height added. (Been told not possible) - Use a size 2 Am I going to have a hard time finding a good surgeon to do these requests? I had a rhinoplasty, but my nose is still big... So, I'm looking to do something else to make it appear smaller. Revision rhino is also an option to make it smaller, but I dunno.
I would not recommend this. In my OR I don't allow it, because once the local is in there is some distortion. You can place it through an intra-oral incision but I prefer the external approach. There is better placement and I feel a lower risk on infection. I also think that adding the chin will give you tthe impression of a smaller nose, as it will place the nose and chin in balance. Rely on your doctor and sit down with him prior to surgery to discuss your concerns. Even if you did the surgery under sedation, you would be able to tell if the chin implant was right for you and we couldn't rely on your answer as you are under the influence of sedation. Good luck.
2 weeks ago i hand chin implant 9mm with wings , i had a receeding chin from the lateral side view bt i loved my face from the front , now i feel like my face is way too long and specially the lower part of my face , my smile too is restricted and my lower lip covers my lower teeth this bothers me i used to love my smile :( , should i wait for 3 months or i have too replace it with a smaller one , i had nose job 6 months before the chin btw
I would not jump to conclusions just yet nancy. It is too soon after surgery to tell so I would be patient. It looks right now as if you have had a very nice result considering the chin recession and noticeable asymmetry you had pre-op. Speak to your plastic surgeon and be patient.
I live in a conservative place where I can tell people I had a deviated septum to get away with the rhinoplasty. But, if people knew I had a chin implant, I'd literally have to leave this town... or get it removed quickly if a close friend noticed. Has anyone every done a good size 1 on a male? I'm afraid of a size 2, and def afraid of a 3 or 4. Since no one can know about this, I really want to do the intra-oral approach even though it may be more risky.
I will tell you it is very rare, to the point I can't remember when I used a # 1 in a male. I am concerned you will not even notice the change and feel the whole procedure was a waste. In all liklihood the #2 will give you mild to moderate improvement when combined with the nose and most if not all people will be aware of it. Discuss this with your plastic surgeon and see what his opinion is on the subject of size.
