Chemical Peel - Safe for Sensitive Skin?

I have really sensitive skin. I flip my hair over to brush it and come back up and its beet red. It gets really red and agitated when I move my face or smile. The red hyperpigmentation makes it worse. What type of chemical peel, if any, would safely give me that smooth scar free complexion I desire?

A: People with sensitive skin

Patients with "sensitive skin" should go to a board certified dermatologist for an evaluation of cause and treament. Also, at that time, rejuvenation procedures such as peels may be discussed and the sensitivity issue should be considered when the dermatologist makes recommendations concerning any type of rejuvenation procedure.

What to Expect from AHA Chemical Peel?

I have used a very thick creme over the winter and it created bumps under my skin. Not acne or blackheads, it is much deeper under the skin. Will the peel help with that? - How long before and after can I tan? I have read you are supposed to protect you skin from the sun. - Is there any do and don't for before and after the peel? Sorry for all the questions, never had one done.

A: Will Bumps under skin resolve with a peel

The cause of bumps under your skin is still unclear despite your relating it to a certain cream. You should seek the advice of a board certified dermatologist to determine the cause and then the treatment of the bumps under your skin. Typically peels will not affect "bumps" under the skin.

Can I Get Chemical Peels After Electrolysis?

Can I have electrolysis treatments after a series of chemical peels? If I do would it ruin the results of the peels and roughen my skin? And also does it matter if its a mild peel, medium peel, or deep peel? I have'nt done any peels yet just hypotheically speaking.

A: Electrolysis after a chemical peel

The best way to answer this is to say that nothing should be done to the skin after a chemical peel until it is completely healed and without complications. Depending on the type of peels this may be anywhere from 1-6 weeks.
