When is a Body Lift Covered by Insurance?

I understand that most of the time, body lift surgery isn't covered by medical insurance, but in certain cases it is. What are the normal criteria for having a body lift paid for by insurance?

A: insurance

In my experience, insurance will not cover the costs of a body lift but may cover the removal of excess overlapping skin in the waist if it leads to frequent infections. This is given a diagnosis of panniculitis and may cover about 10% of the whole procedure. Jacksonville prices range from 10- 13 thousand dollars depending upon overnight requirements.

After Losing 36 Kg is a Full Body Lift a Better Option

i have had tummy tuck and thigh lift and while i'm happy with tummy tuck its bulging a little and thigh lift there is loose skin at top of thigh which surgeon explained would have caused complications to fix but i wonder if in hindsight a full body lift would have been better. he didn't look at overall picture when i first saw him he just looked at the tummy area and then was surprised after surgery how much he had to remove. then when i consulted about thighs he first suggested lower body lift.

A: 36kg

I do not think there is a right or wrong answer to your question. My approach to the massive weight loss patient is on a case per case basis. Many issues are discussed such as budget, recovery periods, and risk which will  factor in on what and when procedures should be done and in what order.

Procedures to Tighten Loose Skin from Massive Weight Loss?

I'm a male 23 years old. I was 300 lbs. and now I'm 185 lbs. The problem is I have excess skin just above the penis area and around my stomach. Is there any exercise I can do to get rid of it? I work out a lot. What procedures are available to get rid of this? It’s really upsetting me. Please can you help and tell me how I can tighten this area? Thank you!

A: post massive weight loss tips

Unfortunately, exercise will not tighten skin to extent you need after such weight loss. This skin is irreparably damaged and must be removed either through an abdominoplasty or a circumferential body lift. Costs can range from 6-12 thousand dollars in our region.
