I am 24. My frown lines are very deep especially for my age. I had botox twice. I am not able to frown, however, I have not seen a difference in my frown lines. My dermatologist did not want to give me more than 20 units. Do I just need more Botox or another treatment? I have had the lines Since I was 22.
The ultimate result from a single treatment with Botox is generally seen 7 days after treatment. That said, there can be a cumulative benefit that is seen in more stubborn or persistent lines after subsequent treatment sessions. I advocate using pre- and post-treatment photos as an objective measure by which we can evaluate treatment success. If you are seeing any improvement, I encourage you to continue with your Botox treatments. On the other hand, if truly no improvement is noted, than using a combination of fractional resurfacing lasers (ablative and non-ablative) and well placed filler (off-label) can be very satisfying. Best of luck!
Hello, I had 30 units of Botox for 11's between my eyebrows and crows feet for my 57 year old face. All is going well, and I'm pleased. It has been 2 weeks; it is alright to have my eyebrows waxed now? Thanks for your help,
The primary issue is that treating the "11"s or your forehead with Botox can affect your brow shape. Any effect that Botox may have on your brow shape should be fully evident after one week. Waxing, in and of itself, has no direct effect on Botox activity. Waiting to wax your eyebrows for one week after you have been injected with Botox is advisable so that you have the most accurate idea of your brow position.
I have had lip injections (twice) with beautiful initial results. However within two weeks, my lips were back to their normal size with the visible filler above and below the lips. I also had Botox in my forhead and around my mouth with filler added to my cheeks. The initial outcome was fabulous. These proceedures were done in November '10 and now February '11, I can move my forehead and all wrinkles are visiable and my lovely cheeks are no more.
The timing of loss of Botox effect is about 3 to 4 months, so your results are in line with typical expectations. However, the initial filler treatment (hyaluronic acid presumably) should last at least 6 months, so it is probably still present. The initial lip fullness has no doubt diminished as swelling has subsided. However, subsequent filler treatments should last longer, as your body gradually builds up it's own collagen tissue in the treated areas.
