Much more painful than I expected. Definitely take advil before going in! Afterwards and for several days my face looked like one bloody mess. They could have modeled a horror flick after me. About 10 days in I was back to regular. Took 7 days to really go anywhere. I am 40 years old, have mild wrinkles and lots of melasma. The resurfacing gave me more pigmentation. I have skin graft scars from over 30 yrs ago. Flat, skin color mostly. I have an area on one of the scars, (I had this done on four scars 3 different parts of my body) that I had a laser treatment done about 15 yrs ago when it resurfaced the top layer like a third degree burn that ended up sticking to the bandages and loosing some pigment.

I had it done at the dermatologists office. First and second treatments were set at 50 strength and I was numbed for about a half hour to 45 minutes. It was painful but tolerable. People with low pain threshold would not be able to take it. I am usually very tolerant of pain. I was red and swollen up to five days and then was peeling for several weeks.
