After Revision Thigh Lifts the Skin of Vagina is Being Pulled Open. Is There Any Chance of Fixing This? (photo)

I asked a previous question, but now have included photos. I have had 4 thighs lifts to correct botched lipo. These lifts didn't tighten the skin at all and now I'm left with horrible scars and my vagina is pulling open. There is no natural crease between my legs, and when I open my legs just a little, there is webbing of my skin.My doctor is the Chief of Surgery in a major hospital. I don't understand how a doctor of this skill level could not realize that this deformity could occur. What can be done now?? Am I forever deformed. It hurts as well.

A: Correction of open labia after thigh lift(s)

It is always more difficult to correct things that have gone wrong for whatever the reason.  Most of the time it has nothing to do with the surgeon or the expertise but wound healing and scar contracture etc.  First of all I would wait at least a year after the last surgery before even considering doing anything.  I would then seek additional consultations to see if other procedures could be done to put additional skin into the area or re-suspend the thigh to the ligamentous structures to prevent the pull down.  Good luck but now is the time for patience before proceeding.

Cellulitis After Thigh Lift/Lipo: Follow Up

I don't believe I worded my last question correctly. I did develop cellulitis and was put on stronger antibiotics two weeks ago which helped tremendously. Now, 3 weeks after surgery I still have a lot of tenderness on my inner thighs as well as a lot of tightness.

Swelling has gone down, but not completely gone. Saw doctor, he said to try to walk as much as possible and then come back and see him in a month. All he can figure out at this point is perhaps slow recovery time. Thank you

A: Swelling after thigh lift

It is bot unusuall to have swelling after a thigh lift.  If complicated by a cellulits it can easily take several months to resolve.  Be patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon as needed.  If the swelling and redness get worse then by all means call your doctor.

Best Way to Treat Incision Scars After Medial Thigh Lift?

i had a medial thigh lift 2 weeks ago and the scars won't heal and they keep opening up from the stiches. i when back for stiching 2 times and they still won't heal. i am desperate.

how is it better to treat them: keep them open to dry, and just put a cicatidrina cream or put on betadine and keep them closed? should i wear the bandage and the corsage or not? my doctor left for a month of easter holidays and i am here in bed afraid to make a move. please help.

A: Open wound after thigh lift

I would say that you should be seen by the doctor who is covering your doctors patients. If it has been closed twice and still opens you may have to let it heal on its own and then have a scar revision. I prefer my patients use bacitracin type ointment should this happen as a moist wound heals faster than a dry one. By no means should this be taken as medical advice and I would definitely suggest seeing someone near where you are. Good luck.
