my doctor used 3/4 ampule of restylane to fill my upper lip . the result was great just after the injection .. 2 hours later i had a huge huge swelling and my mouth looked like a duck . i kept icing the area and i used (surgam) to reduce the swelling . now after 5 days of injection . i feel that i didn't do anything and the effect has gone . doctor said that i need to retouch . but it will worth or i will have the same result ? thank you
No, it is not normal. Restylane lasts for about 6 months and if it disappeared shortly after injection, it is likely that it wasnt Restylane or that something was done to disperse the product in a way that diffused it.
It's usually recommended that 2 syringes are used per eye; $1000 per syringe. Why is restylane so expensive? Is appears cheaper and more convienent to get an under eye implant atleast the results will be permanent where as with restylane you'll have to come back approximately every 6 months to 1 year for injections. Someone please help, I need undereye hollows filled but I can't afford $3000-4000 for restylane injections.
Restylane or any injectable is expensive when it is purchased from a reliable person. The exact price of the procedure varies from 700 to 1000 per syringe. These injections are really intricate and require deep placement of the material. I like to place these injections beneath the muscle in order to avoid lumps and bumps and discoloration.
I had thermage done when I was 23 and I went from being full faced to looking quite gaunt. As a result, I think it took a toll the structured support under my eyes. If I get an injectable filler, such as restylane, could this help my tired-looking under eyes? Or should I just get a really good under eye cream? I'm only 25. Thanks!
Yes, Restylane or Perlane or Juvederm (but NOT Sculptra or Radiesse) are well suited for injections under the eye lids. There are a few caveats to these injections: they need to be placed deeply and by someone that has experience doing it. They are not a substitute for surgery in the case that the person has loose eyelids that need to have the extra tissue removed or the lid tightened. They need to be placed gradually so you dont get over corrected. I try to correct gradually.
Finally, these injections may be associated with bruising and swelling for a few days.
