I am 23 and have always had hereditary dark circles caused by tear troughs and very thin lower lid skin. 2 months ago I had restylane done. It did slightly improve the contour, though I have a dent under one eye and the darkness from underlying vasculature and muscle is still there. Now I'm hoping fat might be an option as it isn't clear. Can I have fat transfer to the area with the restylane so recent? I'm also trying to find a dr in Atl that is known to be skillful with this delicate procedure
Adding or replacing volume to help deep tear troughs is certainly one way to help this difficult problem. However, it is usually a multiple procedure process to get the best look. Don't forget to consider fractional resurfacing as well as volume replacement when trying to smooth these down. Also, you are 23 and will have to deal with anything done, for the rest of your life. Take the time to consider carefully the risks, benefits and alternatives of whatever is suggested.
I have an unilateral atrophic scar on the face due to trauma years ago.I recently undergone liposuction in the ab area to graft fat for injection into depressed area on face. its been 2 wks post opt-swelling went down alot!but injected fat area are more noticeable now.It looks like the fat was place below instead of into the scar site. the scar look worse now than before.its apparent there is a lump on my face-there is also a shawdow (not bruise) at the scar site now. advice or tx options please
Fat transfer can work nicely for large volume filling in the face. Scars such as the one you indicate may do better with Silicone Microdroplet therapy. The silicone prompts your body to wrap collagen around the droplets, much as an oyster creates a pearl around a grain of sand. If you wish to check out your options, make sure you choose someone who has extensive experience with it.
I had a fat transfer to my flat cheeks about 2 weeks ago. So far, it looks nice. However, my doctor said I might want to come back for a touch up in 6 months. I have a question about her procedure. She harvested the fat with a hand syringe. But, she did not spin the fat before injecting. What are your thoughts on this? I know I should have asked her, but I did not. Thanks!
Some cosmetic surgeons always spin fat down before injection, others do not. There is no right or wrong way, Both techniques can yield excellent results. Trust your surgeon to use the technique he or she expects to give you the results you desire.
