I had Juvederm injected into my lips 4 days ago. I have a very large lump on the right side of my lip underneath (more toward the back and inside). It doesn't hurt but my lips are uneven. The doctor is new to injections and wants to add more to the other side to fix it. Could this simply be trauma and swelling? I have been massaging and icing but it looks so uneven. Should I wait and see if the lump goes away or balance it out? This is my first experience. No pain or swelling on left.
If you have a lump after Juvederm injection, it may simply be swelling and should be observed of a week or two.
If it persists, then additional Juvederm injection in an adjacent are may smooth the contour.
Alternatively, the excess Juvederm can be dissolved by injection of Hyaluronidase.
Consult your board certified plastic surgeon for a follow visit after two week and discuss your concerns and treatment options.
Recently had Juvederm for cheek enhancement, done in an effort to correct the undereye hollowness and nasolabial folds. Unfortunately, the filler injected in the area under the eye and beside the nose has caused me to not be able to smile properly. I can only smile half as wide and an asymmetrical smile at that (causing a rather tactless nephew to comment that I look like I just had a stroke). I need the filler removed, but can't seem to find any information. Any advice on how to get rid of it?
Yes, Juvederm can be removed.
Injection of a medication called Hyaluronidase will dissolve the Juvederm because it is a hyaluronic acid material.
Consult with your board certified plastic surgeon and discuss you goals and concerns with your Juvederm injection.
I had Juvederm ultra applied on my nasolabial folds. It seems the doctor injected too much (1 syringe), after 2 months I still feel the product under my skin and the visible puffiness. I have the opposite effect now, fist I had the deep wrinkle now after the injection the skin is raised....Is this effect normal? Will this puffiness go away after 1 year?
Your photo seems to show fullness on either side of the nasolabial fold following your injection of Juvederm.
A full face frontal view would be useful in comparing both sides for symmetry and to determine more precisely where the Juvederm was injected.
Depending on your goals and expectations, you may want to inject additional Juvederm deep to the nasolabial crease, or have the fullness reduced by injection of a medication that dissolves the Juvederm.
I suggest that you consult with your plastic surgeon about your concerns and expectations so that a full discussion of your treatment options can be explained.
