I am in my 30s. Had CO2 laser resurfacing done on my face and noticed creases under my eyes that I didn’t have before. I had a follow-up with my doctor and he said its normal because of swelling and will go away within 6 months as collagen builds, but they don't look swollen to me. Does this sound accurate or is the doctor trying to cover up a surgery gone bad? I trust him but want a 2nd opinion for reassurance. The pic is 7 days post-surgery.
The results of laser resurfacing can take up to 6 months to manifest themselves. As such, being only a week after your treatment you are far away from seeing the final results.
I would speak with the doctor who performed your laser treatment and express your concerns.
I hope that helps!
machines "specialized" for one treatment perform that treatment perfectly. What is the best laser for “eyelids wrinkles”? Please I ask your opinion for “wrinkles..” on lasers that require one session AND your opinion on lasers that require more sessions to obtain the same results… What is the best laser specific for skin resurfacing? Please,I’m again asking about lasers that require one session AND on gentler lasers that require more sessions to obtain the same results. Thanks a lot
To answer your question, there is really not one single laser that is best for a single area but there are lasers that are more effective for addressing certain conditions such as wrinkling, excess oil, redness, etc.
For lines around the eyes, I use the Lumenis Encore Fractional CO2 laser. Because the skin around the eyes is so delicate, I often treat twice just to be safe but am very pleased with the results so far.
My recommendation for you is to not only look at the best laser but also focus on who is performing your treatment. Almost anyone can buy a laser but there are a lot of practitioners out there who have little to no experience using them. And given the delicate nature of the tissue around your eyes, this could be disasterous.
I hope this helps!
I already have tried Restalyne, Perlane and collagen in this area, however I have very tiny and shallow wrinkles underneath my eyes. The doctor's who provided the fillers told me that the lines are so thin that a filler would actually puff them up too much. I hear of laser treatments, and would like to know which is the best for very fine lines under the eyes. I would also like to know which laser requires the fewest amount of sessions as well. Thank you!
Crows feet are causes by repeated facial expressions. Whether it's smiling or squinting, over time these wrinkles can become more permanent.
For a more long term solution a CO2 fractional ablative laser skin resurfacing treatment is a viable option for treating unwanted wrinkles. A CO2 laser emits short bursts of high-intensity light in a grid shaped pattern. The light emissions remove the skin's damaged surface layers to boost collagen growth and tighten the treated skin.
Between one and three treatments are typically needed to treat wrinkles. The thinner and more shallow the wrinkles the fewer treatments requried for noticable enhancement. Collagen stimulating topical lotions may also be used following treatment to further stimulate collagen regeneration.
