I have been getting botox injections for several years. I recently moved to a new town and visited an aesthetic clinic. I feel like I have been robbed. I usually pay from $300-$375 per visit, so I was in shock when I was charged $980.00. I was told it took 70 units for my forehead and crows feet. Is this normal? It had been one year since my last injection.
Your concerns are understandable. However, you were not over charged for your Botox. Botox can run anywhere from $10.00 to $15.00 per unit, depending on which city you live in. it is best to keep your Botox up every 3-4 months as you will get the best results & value from your injections.
I am 27 years old. I developed TMJ Syndrome this year because of the massive amounts of stress in my work and personal life. I do things to various activities to attempt to relieve stress i.e. exercise & etc. However nothing is working I have to take flexeril to make me stop clenching my jaw. Would something like this be a good idea for me to avoid the over usage of Flexeril and motrin 800's?Will it change the appearance of my face?
As an off-label use of BOTOX, the masseter muscle can be injected which may lead to a lessening of the symptoms associated with TMJ. And although this is not a permanent fix, it may be very helpful in conjunction with the medications you are currently taking and potentially could allow you to reduce your dependence on some of these meds.
I hope that helps!
I have smokers lines, which Im deeply unhappy about. Was recommended botox; $180 worth; and now only 1 day later my top lip is so numb I cannot speak properly. She said 7-10 days would get affects of it. Im so worried its going to get worse. Is there ANYTHING I can do? Please please help. I wish I had got fillers; but was $600, thats why opted for botox at $180. Please please any help/advice for now to stop it or lesson it? Or advice for the future? I live in Perth, Western Australia.
I would agree with the other physicians and say that you were probably over-injected in your lips. The good news is that the effects should resolve; the bad news is that it may take several weeks to a month for this to happen.
Some injectors have actually gone back and added a little filler to the lips to increase stiffness which may help. Otherwise, the only thing to do is to be patient and let it wear off.
I hope that helps!
