Is It Normal To Have Difficulties Sitting Up 2 Days Post-Op Lipo to Abdomen and Flanks?

Is this normal or is it possible something went wrong. The surgery was for lower abdomen and flanks, it feels like my core is useless now.

A: You will definitely be sore.

Liposuction of the flank and abdomen area ends ups bruising muscles under the skin.  Most of your pain is probably related to this.  If you have a compression garment, I would recommend using it.  Make sure you drink alot of fluids and take your pain medication like your surgeon ordered.  if you are too nervous to wait for normal recovery, then see your surgeon ASAP.

Good luck,

Is Liposuction Safe 8 Months After C-section?

My baby is 8 months now. Would it be ok to get Liposuction?

A: Yes it should be.

Liposuction is best performed when you are not breast feeding because of the effects of medications taken by you getting passed to your child in your milk. Also, you need to be at a stable weight close to your pre-pregnancy weight. This is because liposuction is designed to be a spot treatment, not a weight-loss measure. Finally, take a critical look at the number and location of your stretch marks in the areas you are looking to contour because that skin is not going to shrink as well after the fat is removed leaving you with the possibility of a lax, deflated look. In this situation, a surgical remedy may be in order instead.

Good luck,

Is Water Assisted Liposuction As Effective As Smart Lipo?

I am scheduled to receive Water Assisted Liposuction and the Smart Lipo to help retract the skin.

Is the WAL (Water Assisted Liposuction) as effective as doing just the Smart Lipo? I can't find anyone who has had this procedure

A: The most important factor is the surgeon holding the instruments

Today, there are numerous types of liposuction body contouring procedures. Unfortunately, there is a tremendous amount of marketing hype and over-salesmanship. The most important factor is the person holding the instruments. I would strongly advise you to see a board certified/eligible plastic surgeon who is experienced in body contouring. Look at his/her credentials, experience, and outcomes. It would be advisable to talk to references. Do your homework!

I hope you find this helpful.
