I had two breast lift and breast augmentation consultations. Both seemed to think I could "maybe" be happy without a lift. They both said I have a good amount of breast tissue, but that I am borderline of needing a lift. So I am wondering if I lose weight, will I lose some breast tissue therefore decreasing my need for a lift?
Some women lose weight to their breasts while others experience very little volume change with weight loss. In addition, depending upon the tone of your breasts and degree of laxity, if you do lose weight the skin could either shrink up or increase in droop.
With this said, my recommendation would be to simply lose the desired weight and see what happens. Unfortunately, none of us have a crystal ball and to accurately predict exactly what is going to happen to your breasts is very difficult.
My breasts are very saggy for my age. I just turned 20, and I was wondering if there is any way to lift them without surgery. I am a 32D.
There is really no non-surgical breast lift that works. Several factors contribute to sagging of your breasts but the main one is stretching of the internal supporting fibers called Cooper's Ligaments. When these become elongated, they provide less support and so your breasts appear less perky. Unfortunately, current breast lift procedures actually do not shorten these ligaments but simply reshape the skin envelope around the attenuated ligaments and provide a lift.
Many practitioners will advertise the BOTOX breast lift or the Thermage breast lift, etc. Beware of these claims. If they were really effective, chances are that we as Plastic Surgeons would already be using them. And we are not.
I hope that helps.
I wear a 34GG size bra and after having nursed 5 children, I'm in need of a Breast lift. Can it be done without Breast implants and will the lift leave my size the same or will it change? What is the down-time from this type of operation?
For many of the breast lifts that I perform, I generally recommend use of a submuscular implant. The advantage to this is that I can usually restore and enhance upper pole fullness which a standard breast lift does not accomplish on its own. In addition, I feel that placement of an implant also may provide a more optimal shape and contour to a lifted breast. But is this always necessary? No.
If you already have substantial breast volume or if you have fairly firm, glandular breasts, then this may not be necessary. In this case, I would simply restructure and reshape your breasts using a standard breast lift alone. Adding additional volume to breasts that are already large may simply not be necessary.
I hope that helps.
