I was on a cruise.I had perlane-L 1 ml syringe per each side for nasal folds. I was told it would last 2-3 years and 9-12 months for the dysport in my forehead. This seems to differ from information I'm reading on the net. I paid 1600 + 400 for the 2 treatments. The doctor told me she had specific training in the perlane injections and did them in such a way they would last much longer. I'm very happy with the result so far 2 weeks post. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks
Traced,
There is no reason to believe that Perlane injected into your nasolabial folds will last 2-3 years or that Dysport injected into your forehead will last 9-12 months. Although injections in different areas of the body and in different patients vary in their duration of effect, a reasonable guideline is 6 months for the Perlane and 3 months for the Dysport. Sorry!
I recently had Botox and Perlane for my cheek area. It looked great the first time, so I came back for a follow-up. We thought the right side of my face looked a bit flatter than the left, so I agreed to have a bit more filler on it. He did some touch-up on the left side too.
Now the results are disastrous--my face looks good when I make no expressions, but my cheeks look too plump when I smile. It looks so wrong on my heart-shaped face! Will this eventually go down, or can I have it removed?
Baby Face:
Perlane is a soft tissue filler comprised of hyaluronic acid which is a chemical found naturally occuring in human skin. Perlane is a "stiffer" product of larger particle size purposefully designed to be injected into the deeper layers of the skin. Typically, Perlane lasts about six to nine months. Perlane can be reversed by injecting hyauronidase into the treated areas.
Please see your treating physician and discuss your concerns with him/her. Study your before and after photographs- including animated views- before making any decisions. Keep in mind that looking straight ahead in a mirror may distort or magnify your image. Lastly, I would wait at least three weeks to allow the treated areas to settle down and the swelling and brusing to subside. If your are still upset, then I would speak to your doctor about having the Perlane treated areas reversed.
Thank you for your question!
