Hi. I had Radiesse (non-surgical rhinoplasty) injected into my nose (bridge & tip). Now I hate how my nose looks and want to get the proper, surgical rhinoplasty. The doc that did the Radiesse said I can have surgical rhinoplasty in 6 months. But another doc I contacted said he would not perform nose surgery until 1 year has passed. Now I'm confused. I really would like to get it done in 6 months. I can't believe I may have to wait 1 year?!
Hi Cherry10,
Radiesse is particularly problematic to deal with when a surgical rhinoplasty is needed. To remove it endangers the blood supply to the overlying involved skin because Radiesse gets placed in the dermal layer of the skin. It is very hard to remove without creating some injury to the overlying skin.
Your surgeon will need to be extremely careful with your nose, especially if you have thin skin. Good luck and give it time so as much of the Radiesse is gone as possible.
