I'm a skinny with very mild gynecomastia. Can over-injecting Kenalog injections help cause it to atrophy a little--and thereby avoid traumatic surgery? Or does it not affect the gland tissue at all?
Kenalog injections would be a bad choice as a technique for Gynecomastia Reduction because it is so imprecise and may not be very effective against the dense breast tissue.
The steroid injection may cause uneven, even disfiguring fat and dermal atrophy (thinning of the skin).
I can understand your wanting to take a novel and non-invasive approach, but Kenalog injections for Gynecomastia Reduction is inadvisable and likely to cause a lot of problems with cosmetic deformity.
Is gynecomastia surgery (male breast reduction) just a version of liposuction for male breasts?
Liposuction is one technique for Gynecomastia removal. With use of ultrasound or laser to dissolve the breast tissue, liposuction can be very effective by itself.
Sometimes, liposuction may be used in combination with cutting. Some cases of Male Breast Reduction may be done with cutting, alone.
The determination of the best techniques is based upon your surgeon's judgment and experience.
Think of liposuction as a technique or tool used in a procedure, not as an operation, per se.
