What Procedure Would Be Best for my Lips? (photo)

I am a 23 year old female who is interested in getting my lips done. I feel like i have a great lip shape when I apply pressure to my upper lip. (You can see in the pictures below what I am talking about) I feel its a shame that all that shape is actually covered up! I think botox may make me have duck lips.. would you suggest a lip lift? and how much would it be to fix this? I have also noticed it makes my nose look kind of large when I do this? Suggestions? Thanks !

A: Lip Implant consideration

Thank you for submitting your question and photos.  While I agree with the responses of some of the plastic surgeons on this board regarding the use of dermal fillers, I do also want to recommend the option of a surgisil lip implant.  Unlike previously manufactured implants, the surgisil implant is made of a special silicone that does not allow for scar tissue to attach to it.  This makes the removal of the implant quite simple if you should decide that you don't like it.  The procedure is done in the office with local anesthesia to the lips.  We also provide you with some medications to aid in relaxation and relief of pain.  Two small inscisions are made in the inside corners of your mouth, where they can easily be hidden, and the lip implant is inserted into the lip.  The implants come in a variety of diameters and lengths so we can custom fit them to help achieve the look you are after. This may be something that you could considering looking into.  Good luck!

How Can I Achieve a Fuller Upper Lip?

Is there a way i can get fuller upperlip without the monthly treatments with Silikon 1000 procedure, if i were to get only one treatment would it be worth it to me in your opinion, im also getting the non surgical rhinoplasty along with it to get rid of the bump on my nose would i see a difference the first treatment of both procedures?

A: Lip augmentation and non-surgical rhinoplasty

Hello, and thank you for your question!  If you have never augmented your lips before, I would suggest starting with a filler like Juvederm that, while temporary, will allow you to see results immediately and will allow you to decide if you truly like the look of your augmented lips.  If you are pleased with what the filler does for your looks and then choose a route that is more permanent, I would recommend going with the SurgiSil Lip implants.  They are made up of a very soft silicone and come in different diameters and lengths to customize a look of fullness that is appropriate for you and your measurements.  The nice thing about the technology they use is that, unlike implants of the past, this new type of silicone does not allow for scar to adhere down to it.  This being said, if you choose to remove the implants, this can be done very easily.  It is a procedure that is performed in the office and so is relatively inexpensive and pays for itself.  I would ask your plastic surgeon if this is something that he/she is willing to perform.  In regards to the non-surgical rhinoplasty, I would recommend a filler like Radiesse.  It is Calcium based and does well when placed on top of bone.  It should last about 1-2 years depending on how it is administered.  You should be able to walk out of the office seeing results after the first treatment as well.  Thanks again, and good luck!

Natural Look Lip Augmentation?

My lips appear to be thinning with age but I don't want to look of fake over plumped up lips.  Tips for natural appearing lip plumping?

A: Yes, you can improve lips and still look natural.

With age the lips do tend to loose the plumpness look of youth. The fillers we use today, Juvederm and Restylane for example, are great for giving a more youthful appearance to the lips without looking overdone. Just tell to your facial plastic surgeon your goals for the procedure.
