Is liposuction part of the body lift procedure?
I utilize some liposuction at the time of a body lift most of the time. There are a number of areas which can be safely treated with liposuction at the same time as a body lift including the abdomen, flanks and lateral thighs. You surgeon can identify the areas which can be safely and effectively treated at the time of surgery.
Are arm lift and breast lift part of the body lift procedure? Those are two of the main surgeries I want, but from what I can tell, they're not actually part of a body lift.
Decision making for skin reduction surgeries after weight loss is based on patient desires and counselling by an experienced surgeon as to what is safe or appropriate to do at the same time. A lower body lift will address the looseness of the abdomen, buttock and outer and back of the thighs. Procedures on the arms or breasts are separate procedures although are regularly done at the same time. Be careful having the arms and lower body done at the same time. you are going to need those sore arms a lot to get up and around after a lower body lift!
I understand that most of the time, body lift surgery isn't covered by medical insurance, but in certain cases it is. What are the normal criteria for having a body lift paid for by insurance?
The term "Body Lift" refers a cosmetic procedure that is generally not covered by insurance. Other surgeons have described insurance coverage criteria.
Hope this helps
